You Spoke...I Listened

Thanks for the feedback concerning what you'd like to see for cotton and other summertime yarns. You spoke and I ordered accordingly. Someone mentioned they'd like to knit with ribbon yarns. Well, I have quite a few ribbons in stock and waiting for you. I think we're going to have a wonderful summer : )

Time To Think of Cotton Yarn

Lots and lots of cotton...and cotton blends. That's what we want to knit with in the summer. You can't get enough of it, right? So let me know what kinds of cottons you'd like to see in the shop this season. Or is it linen that's the "hot" fiber this year? Call me at the shop and let me know what you'd like to knit with now that the weather is warm.

The Big Computer Crash of 2007

Oh yeah, it happened. At the worst possible time. Last Monday my dear husband was trying to "fix" my computer, which had decided not to let me install any new programs. Rick had got me an iPod for Mother's Day and I needed to install iTunes. Well, as you've already guessed, he fixed it alright. Fixed it good. So good that he had to go out the next day and get me a new computer. I took advantage of the situation to get new desk top publishing software, too. I had just 7 days to learn a new program, re-enter ALL the names and addresses into my customer data base, cobble together a newsletter, and have it ready to mail by the promised date of May 22nd. My hands are all cramped up from days and days of data entry....but the newsletter will be mailed tomorrow! Watch your mailbox. I've got some fun things planned for this summer.

Bags, Bags, and More Bags!

I can't seem to get enough of felted bags. These are 3 of my most recent creations. The patterns for all 3 are available FREE with yarn purchase.

BUTTON HOLE BAG ADAPTAION

This one was knit on our recent trip to the ocean to celebrate our birthdays. I knit it during the long car ride down and back. It's nearly identical to the Button Hole Bag but without the handle holes. I added some FLORA to the contrast stripes and sewed on plastic handles after the bag was felted.

BOKU POPCORN BAG

This bag is knit from the new BOKU yarn from Plymouth. It's
much less expensive than Noro. I love how the stripes worked
up and this yarn felted beautifully.

MANOS MITERED PURSE

And finially, this is my most recent bag, the Manos Mitered Purse. It uses just 2 skeins of Manos and is very quick to knit.

Stop by the shop to see these bags in person and to pick
up the patterns and yarns to knit one of your very own.

Getting Ready For The Summer

2007 is flying by. I can hardly believe that summer is almost here. Please make note that Lamb's Ear will be observing our summer hours,11am to 4pm, during June, July, and August. In September we'll return to our regular hours of 11am to 6pm.

I am busy working on the summer edition of our newsletter, which will be mailed the end of May. I'm planning lots of fun classes for you, including some dye classes.

I am selling the black leather sofa and will replace it with more shelves so I can bring in even MORE yarns! If you know anyone in the Tacoma area that would like a great deal on a sofa...send them my way. I paid over $500 (plus sales tax) and am asking $175.

I've been busy knitting. I finished this cute Kimono Style Vest...

.....and have begun this new pullover vest that I'm knitting from 'Dream In Color' yarn.

New arrivals are more awesome colors of the Colinette JITTERBUG sock yarn.

I hope you are all enjoying the warmer weather. I've been having fun digging in the dirt, getting the garden ready. And taking long walks through Point Defiance Park.
